Every single team member, from product & engineering to sales & marketing, finance, operations, and everything in between is obsessed with one thing; helping Canadians make better financial choices. And we’re pretty great at it, too. Via our digital application technology and our award-winning in-house brokerages, we help over 2M Canadians per month make a positive impact on their finances. We have many unique businesses - a mortgage brokerage, a life insurance brokerage, a home and auto insurance brokerage, a mortgage originations and servicing business, a Financial Services Marketplace and a content business across Ratehub and MoneySense. 365 days a year we deliver our users the best online mortgage experience, personalized Credit Card and Loans options, and cheaper auto & home insurance policies than they typically get from their existing financial adviser.

Changing how people make financial choices isn’t easy, though. We know that achieving our mission is full of challenges; challenges that can be complex and often unexpected, but that are always interesting, rewarding, and fun to solve as a team. This is where you come in. We are on the hunt for the right kind of people to join us and help lead us forward to continued growth.

We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our growing Product team, (based in downtown Toronto but also open to remote candidates). The Product Manager will report directly to our Head of Product, and will support Ratehub’s Mortgage business by partnering closely with the business unit leader to drive the vision forward. The ideal candidate is a hands-on person who can anticipate business needs, tackle ambiguous problems head-on, and transform ideas into a world-class experience for Ratehub members - no problem is too big or too small!

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and desires, through user and market research, competitor analysis, AB testing, and other quantitative/qualitative analysis, and turning those insights into a product vision and actionable opportunities that delight our customers and increase conversion rate
  • Partner with key stakeholders (business unit leaders, brokerage agents, marketing, customer support, legal, finance, etc.) to define business requirements for a successful product
  • Work with designers and the development team to transform business strategy into a roadmap with actionable sprint plans
  • Identify and track key metrics associated with the success of the product/features, and communicate product performance to the rest of the organization throughout the product life cycle
  • Evaluate trade-offs in product, design, and technical decisions, and use data-driven mechanisms to influence and drive alignment
  • Own the product roadmap, backlog prioritization, and release plan for the product and related features
  • Manage day-to-day scrum activity and prioritize efforts for a team consisting of developers, designers, and quality assurance
  • Coordinate with other business functions for product launch and implementation, including developing marketing plans, ensuring operational readiness, and any other launch requirements
  • Collaborate in the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of landing pages, and continually look for improvements that optimize user experience and boost SEO effectiveness
  • Develop expertise in their focus area, and keeping on top of constantly changing competitor and industry trends

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education: our ideal candidate has completed a program of relevance (i.e., Product Management)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Startup/scaleup experience considered an asset, especially in fintech and/or a SaaS/B2C platform business
  • Experience in Agile/Sprint/Scrum development processes

  • A passion for UX/Design and exceptional ability to translate customer and business needs into outstanding products
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and manage cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project plans, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, and able to pivot and re-prioritize efforts as required
  • Creativity in solution design - the candidate identifies opportunities to test concepts without necessarily requiring a full-scale technology build
  • Interest in personal finance and mortgages is a significant asset

CULTURE FIT:

  • Members first - we prioritise the interests and needs of our members above all else.We solve member pain points and focus on member satisfaction. We start with members, and end with the P&L.
