We are seeking an experienced, high-calibre individual with a background in New Product Introduction and Product Development to be part of Abbott New Medical Sensors team.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide strategic and tactical support for the Research & Development Department to achieve an innovative pipeline to drive competitive advantage and enable accelerated growth aligned with overall business strategy
- Establish and maintain relationships with critical business and technology decision makers, including internal stakeholders, vendors and other external partners.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to drive (internal and external) customer research using surveys, product analytics, market research, interviews, hackathons, online forums or other cost-effective means of gaining insight into the "voice of the customer." Use these insights to define customer segments, key personas, unmet needs and critical value drivers and integrate them into internal development priorities and roadmap.
- Create systematic approaches to capture and utilize competitive intelligence across the organization and integrate them into product strategy and roadmap.
- Establish a cohesive technical product roadmap that’s market backed and aligned to the business goals. Define release strategies and themes for each release.
- Work with key stakeholders to make frequent, dynamic prioritization decisions based on the latest market insights, product team metrics and customer feedback. Define, track and communicate key product performance indicators required to inform this process and track business results.
- Provide technical product expertise to product team members, including product managers, product owners, product operations and experience designers in a matrixed organization.
- Nurture a culture of innovation and experimentation, and effectively mentor, guide and evaluate team members. Support a collaborative, diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.
- Keeps the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action
- Utilizes technical/professional knowledge and skills to establish, interpret and execute company policies in a major segment of the company
- Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
- Makes and executes operational decisions with a strategic perspective
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, or finance.
- 4-6 years of technical product management experience, with demonstrated success in defining, building, and launching both home and hospital-based products, in a regulated industry.
- Strong familiarity and experience as a Technical Product Owner working closely with distributed digital/software development teams.
- Strong familiarity and experience with data integration solutions and messaging protocols, including interoperability with electronic medical record systems across different care settings and geographies, HL7 / FHIR, API-based integrations, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in diverse roles (e.g., technology, marketing, commercial, customer success, product management) with increasing responsibilities across domains and digital technology.
- Demonstrated experience with design thinking principles and agile software delivery.
- Demonstrated customer engagement experience with various personas in the healthcare delivery domain: C-suite, clinicians, IT leaders, and biomedical engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels.
- Experience leading change in a large, matrixed, global organization.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong outside-in, customer-driven, design thinking perspectives, is an expert in outcome driven innovation, possess a growth mindset, and excellent strategic planning and thinking skills. Experience applying Lean methodologies – problem solving, continuous improvement and daily management will be a strong plus
