What you’ll be doing

As the Product Manager, Managed Solutions you will report to the Executive Director, Product Development & Management, Managed Solutions.

You will be an integral member of the team supporting product innovation, development, shelf management and strategic priorities for CIBC Global Asset Management (GAM), Managed Solutions product offering. You will also support and lead certain day-to-day management activities for the products, including marketing and sales support, conduct competitor analysis, operational & technology-related activities, product enhancements, and ongoing product oversight.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $82,000 to $106,400.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you’ll succeed

• Product Management - Participate in the development of enhancements to existing products and/or new asset management products/services. Assess competitive environment, client and advisor needs, business requirements, pricing, distribution, revenue impacts, marketing positioning. Conducts research on industry trends, competitive information and product capabilities. Provides day-to-day, ongoing management in the delivery of products and industry related information, while ensuring that all activities are consistent with CIBC directives and those of other partner and internal areas. Work with internal partners to communicate product information through training programs for the sales and client servicing departments. Ensure that all product initiatives meet audit, legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Product Development - Support the development and implementation of annual strategic and tactical business plans across the Managed Solutions product platform that will drive efficiency, profitability, cost management, planned enhancements, pricing, and enhanced customer-experience. Conduct analytical work and research required for product development activities and initiatives. Collaborate with other teams to develop and support marketing and sales initiatives.

Who you are

• You demonstrate experience in business planning, business model development and pricing best-practices You have in-depth knowledge of mutual fund products and possess strategic planning skills to establish and co-ordinate complex assignments and projects. You bring 3-5 years of investment product development, proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and expertise with Morningstar Direct. Strong knowledge of investment and mutual fund products & analytical skills –, as well as regulatory environment. Detailed knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably in asset management. Product management and/or product development, and project management experience. Experience with Morningstar Direct or similar databases preferred. Knowledge of current financial markets and an understanding of the forces that influence them.

• You have a University degree in Business or Finance. Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course preferred. CFA candidate or charterholder preferred. Other industry accreditations are considered an asset (e.g. CFP, IFIC).
