Job Description

Product Manager – Hyperspectral Imaging

Location: Europe or North America | Business Unit: Teledyne Vision Solutions

Why This Role Matters

Hyperspectral imaging is moving rapidly from research labs into real‑world impact. Today, hyperspectral systems sit at the front line of food safety, recycling, mining, and resource efficiency—helping detect invisible contaminants, improve food quality, increase recycling effectiveness, and reduce the energy required to extract valuable materials from ore. Globally, hyperspectral imaging is enabling measurements that the human eye cannot see: sugar content and acidity in fruit, material composition in waste streams, and subtle chemical signatures that define quality, safety, and value.

Teledyne is investing in hyperspectral imaging, and this role will be central to that journey.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager to lead Teledyne’s Hyperspectral Imaging product family. This role is ideal for a technically strong, growth‑oriented senior product leader with eight plus years of experience who thrives on complex problems, enjoys discovering new applications, and wants to shape how an emerging technology is adopted worldwide.  The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Science or Engineering with experience in spectroscopy and spectrometer-based measurement systems aligned with high speed industrial applications.

You will own the strategic, technical, and commercial direction of the product line—translating Teledyne’s advanced imaging technology into scalable, market‑leading solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and evaluate markets, applications, and sales potential for hyperspectral imaging across industrial and emerging verticals

  • Define and evolve the product roadmap, balancing near‑term execution with long‑term platform strategy

  • Translate customer needs and application insights into clear technical specifications and functional requirements

  • Work closely with R&D, applications, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, engaging technical experts across the broader Teledyne organization

  • Engage and influence cross‑functional, cross‑BU teams to deliver complex, high‑impact developments

  • Champion innovation, challenge assumptions, and accelerate Teledyne’s leadership of this fast‑growing market

Who You Are

  • Experienced product manager or technical leader with hands‑on exposure to hyperspectral imaging or closely related optical, sensing, or imaging technologies

  • Strong technical background in science or engineering (optics, physics, electrical engineering, computer vision, spectroscopy, or similar)

  • Naturally curious, analytical, and growth‑oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Creative, out‑of‑the‑box thinker who enjoys tackling big, ambiguous problems

  • Confident communicator who can bridge deep technical detail and business strategy, with customers or executive management

Why Teledyne

At Teledyne, you’ll work with world‑class technology, global teams, and real‑world applications that matter. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape an emerging market, influence long‑term strategy, and deliver technology that improves safety, sustainability, and efficiency across industries.

Salary Range:

$114,200.00-$152,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.

Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards. We require all employees to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, rules and regulatory orders.
