Being a Senior Product Consultant at Kainos

As a Senior Product Consultant at Kainos, you’ll play a central role in leading one or more Agile delivery teams; taking ownership of the end-to-end product backlog and ensuring high quality, value-driven outcomes.

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, delivery managers, and solution architects to shape product strategy, guide delivery, and align work to both user needs and commercial goals. You’ll be a visible leader across your teams - promoting good product practices, mentoring others, and helping drive continuous improvement.

What is in it for you? The chance to:

Make an impact. Own the product backlog and shape roadmaps that drive results. You’ll focus on value, MVP delivery, and stakeholder alignment to ensure meaningful business outcomes.

Shape digital solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams to break big goals into deliverable pieces of work - ensuring clarity on product vision and measurable progress.

Lead with purpose. Champion strong product practices, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and contribute to commercial success and delivery excellence.

In this role you will:

Define and refine product requirements. Lead requirement-gathering and prioritisation processes to ensure the team is focused on delivering the most valuable outcomes.

Own the product backlog. Take full responsibility for managing and maturing the backlog, ensuring stories are clearly defined, high quality, and ready for development.

Guide product delivery. Ensure the product vision and goals are clearly understood by your team - enabling effective scope management and incremental value delivery.

Collaborate with key stakeholders. Work with delivery managers and solution architects to balance scope with budget, timelines, and technical considerations.

Support commercial growth. Identify opportunities for business expansion at the product level, participate in sales conversations, and contribute to commercial decision-making.

Your expertise:

Product leadership. You have experience leading product teams and delivering value through Agile product delivery. You’re skilled in MVP thinking and breaking goals into small, achievable steps.

Strategic mindset. You can shape long-term roadmaps, secure buy-in from senior stakeholders, and adapt delivery scope to balance priorities and outcomes.

Commercial acumen. You are comfortable managing product delivery within budget and contractual limits. You spot opportunities for growth and align delivery to business goals.

Stakeholder engagement. You have worked with senior business stakeholders, facilitated workshops, and successfully secured alignment on complex priorities.

Ownership and resilience. You deliver results even when challenges arise - staying focused, flexible, and open to feedback. You always seek better ways to solve problems and improve outcomes.

Communication skills. You can explain complex product concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment across teams.

Continuous improvement. You contribute to team learning, product innovation, and the evolution of product management practices across Kainos.

What to expect from the hiring process:

● A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor. This is an opportunity to discuss how your career goals and this role align.

● A virtual interview with the Hiring Manager and senior members of the team. You will share your experience, learn about day-to-day responsibilities, the company and the team.

● A technical panel interview. You will be assigned a task and given time to prepare. You will present your solutions, demonstrating how you think about and solve problems, and communicate technical decisions.

● An informal coffee chat. This is a chance for you to lead the discussion. You can ask questions about the culture, values and career development opportunities and confirm that it’s the next step for you.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s write the next incredible chapter of our story together.
