Snapshot of the Role:
We're seeking a growth-focused Product Manager with a proven track record of driving key business metrics through impactful experimentation and data-driven decision-making. In this role, you'll lead growth initiatives across acquisition, retention, and referrals by collaborating with cross-functional partners in engineering, design, marketing, and analytics. You'll own the growth product roadmap, write detailed user stories, and guide features from concept to launch in an agile environment. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of product management experience, a strong technical background, and a passion for building exceptional consumer-facing products. This position will be based in our Waterloo, Canada, Office with a remote-first approach and optional in-person collaboration. 


What we are looking for:

  • Track record of having a large impact on critical growth metrics 
  • Deep experience with developing, executing, & testing different growth experiments that have a significant impact on acquisition, retention, and/or referrals.
  • Obsessive around moving critical business metrics
  • Consistent track record of making great decisions after weighing all the factors that must be considered (experience, brand, business impact, technical impact, etc.) 
  • Ability to analyze user data and extract business requirements from multiple stakeholders and transform them into usable and elegant product specifications
  • Deep empathetic understanding of user experience and user research
  • Strong technical background in product development and/or software development


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Move growth metrics in the right direction (traffic, conversion, renewal, referral)
  • Develop and maintain a growth product roadmap and strategy in collaboration with engineering, design, marketing, operations, & analytics.
  • Write detailed user stories, identify edge cases, and work with the engineering team to roll out features in an agile, continuous deployment environment.


Requirements:

  • Love creating amazing consumer products
  • 4+ years of previous experience in product management, software development, or growth product management
  • Experience working on consumer-facing products
  • Bachelor’s degree (degrees in engineering / CS is a major plus)
  • Knowledge and passion for education, online experiences, and brand growth

The salary range listed is for candidates in Ontario, Canada. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has been adjusted for geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.

MasterClass’s salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to salary, we also offer equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more). The range listed is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
