Job Summary:

As the Senior Product Manager of External Ecosystems, you will help drive innovation at Central 1 by working to define the vision for Central 1’s partner ecosystem as part of its new Digital Financial Services Platform.
 

You’ll collaborate closely with senior management to leverage your expertise in digital banking and payments to shape an advanced operational model and deliver exceptional consumer experiences for our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Product & Platform Management:  establish efficient and repeatable processes to support onboarding of third-party partners to bring new and innovative products and services to market, including open banking and alternative payment solutions to compliment Central 1’s core payments business

  • Marketing & Communications:  create internal and external assets which articulate the value of the partner ecosystem, and work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communication team to create and execute marketing initiatives, while ensuring that Central 1’s brand is managed within the marketplace

  • Strategy & Planning:  conduct market research and competitive intelligence, go-to-market planning, and pricing and business case development in support of new partnerships

  • Build Internal Relationships:  align, collaborate, and partner with organizational stakeholders (Product, Technology, Marketing & Communications, Client Relations, Finance, Legal, etc.) to develop and execute on business strategies

  • Build External Relationships:  develop client and industry partner relationships to better understand credit union system needs and opportunities

  • Reporting and P&L Management:  track key product and program KPIs, and manage P&L, as required, leveraging data assets, market intelligence, client insights and digital banking/payments expertise
     

What you’ll have:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, ideally within the Canadian banking and payments sectors working with multi-sided ecosystems

  • Good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen, with solid understanding on the architecture, product design and development, business models and go to market for API-based platforms

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues (both complex business and technical), and concisely present to clients, partners and senior leadership

  • Deep understanding of banking operations and/or payment schemes, including products & services, business systems and processes

    • Familiarity with API technology an asset

    • Familiarity with SaaS platforms and workflows an asset

  • Belief in customer centric product design, with a focus on both customer empathy and data/financials driven product decisions

  • A self-starter with a proven ability to operate within fluid environments and lead change/introduce process improvements

  • Track record of executing strategic initiatives that drive profitability and growth

  • University degree in business administration, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. MBA and/or advanced degree preferred
     

Salary : $116,800 - $135,000
 

The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
