Job Description

The role is responsible for leading the design, development, and “go to market” strategy for the Servo Motor product category for the business. This role is responsible for achieving product sales year over year growth targets.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Drive proactive, comprehensive market and customer research

  • Create a product roadmap using the research to ensure the business remains a market leader in Servo Motors
  • Based on the research conducted clearly articulate the customer value proposition and alignment to business strategy
  • Work closely with New Business Development, Sales team and market leads to identify requirements for Servo Motors
  • Translate customer and market needs into product requirements
  • Identify common customer and market needs across market segments
  • Ensure alignment of customer requirements with the business’s core competencies, identify gaps and drive solutions on how to close gaps

Deliver on the growth strategy for the platform

  • Identify key investments that support growth in key market segments across the platform
  • Present business cases to obtain investment approvals
  • Track and report on benefit realization on growth investments
  • Design, develop and implement the vision for the overall product platform in consultation with relevant business segments, New Business Development, Sales, Engineering, Operations
  • Ongoing communication and re-alignment of the strategy as market conditions change and evolve to ensure strategic relevance
  • Active management of development cost, opportunity costs, and ROI when managing product portfolio

Drive New Product Development

  • Communicate product requirements to NPD teams using agreed methodologies
  • Work closely with project leaders to ensure requirements and capabilities are delivered accurately
  • Ongoing active collaboration with NPD teams, engineering, and management to ensure all stakeholders are kept up to date with NPD developments and delivery for the platform

Accurate and timeous reporting

  • Regular reporting on growth pipeline as it relates to servo motors
  • Tracking and reporting the sales that result from investments made in servo motor segments
  • Provide top level overviews of servo motor projects and their status and outcomes

TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL

  • Able to collect, filter and define key sets of capabilities that allow a product platform to be successful across multiple markets
  • Can clearly define the requirements and profitability of products
  • Able to build a clear, purposeful product and platform roadmap based on input from market leads, sales, etcetera
  • Able to act as a subject matter expert when communicating with internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • Ability to manage the expectations of all relevant stakeholders
  • Actively drives new product development for their platform to ensure targets are achieved

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the servo motor market
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
