About Marble

Marble is building the new operating system for youth mental health by connecting schools, therapists, and health plans on a single platform to unlock access to care today and raise the standard of care for tomorrow.

Last year, 1 in 10 teens attempted suicide. At the heart of this crisis is a severe lack of access to quality, affordable care. When kids can't get help, problems compound and preventable tragedies follow. Marble partners directly with school counselors to get students into care quickly by connecting them to licensed therapists through the insurance coverage they already have, with no waitlists.

We're an early-stage, fast-moving team. The people who join now will shape how we build and what we build.

About the Role

As one of Marble's early engineers, you'll own truly life-changing products end-to-end. You'll work across a full-stack platform — building the school-facing product that connects students to care, the therapist platform that makes clinicians more effective, Marty (our AI-powered patient companion), the payer systems that sustain our business, and the internal tooling that makes the whole team faster.

You'll partner directly with product, operations, growth, and clinical teams to ship experiences that expand access to care and elevate its quality. You'll bring strong opinions on what to build, raise the engineering bar, and help define what a thoughtful, AI-native engineering culture looks like at an early-stage company.

This role is hybrid, with three days per week in our SoHo, New York City office.

What You'll Do
  • Build and iterate on Marble's core product surfaces: the school-facing product, therapist platform, Marty (our AI patient companion), payer systems, and internal tooling

  • Own features end-to-end — from discovery and execution through rollout, measurement, and iteration

  • Raise the bar on AI-native ways of working: better tooling, better workflows, and thoughtfully integrated AI features for users and internal teams

  • Evolve the platform that underpins our product: modern web architecture, event-driven workflows, observability, and pragmatic infrastructure

  • Create internal tools and automation that reduce operational load and help the team move faster with fewer mistakes

  • Write clean, maintainable code, improve patterns, and push for simplicity and speed

  • Collaborate with ops, growth, and clinical partners to understand real-world constraints and translate them into great product

  • Mentor others and help build a strong, thoughtful engineering culture

Who You Are
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping full-stack web applications

  • Proficient with a modern stack — Node.js or Python plus React

  • Prior startup experience (Series C or earlier); comfortable in a high-autonomy, high-ownership environment

  • Strong, demonstrated proficiency using AI tools to increase velocity and quality in day-to-day engineering work

  • Based in New York and able to work from our SoHo office 3+ days per week

  • Deep product sense — you understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points, and you shape what gets built, not just how it gets built

  • You see what needs doing and do it: you move fast, own outcomes end-to-end, and don't wait for perfect information

  • Loves getting in the weeds on hard problems — gathers evidence, connects data points, and finds signal others miss

  • Holds yourself to a high standard and raises the bar for the team through example and feedback

  • Stays at the cutting edge of AI — brings what's working back to the team and makes everyone around you more effective

  • Mission-driven and energized by improving access to mental health care for kids

Bonus:

  • Prior experience in health tech

  • Experience with Next.js

  • Experience with platform infrastructure — event-driven systems, internal tooling, data pipelines, or cloud infrastructure (AWS, CI/CD, Terraform)

  • Experience with design systems, accessibility, or frontend performance optimization

Why Marble
  • Direct impact on kids' mental health access — this work is meaningful

  • Greenfield opportunity to build something from the ground up, with leadership support and a clear growth path

  • Small, experienced team that moves fast and takes the work seriously

  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and equity

Compensation

Marble offers competitive compensation for an early engineering team member. Compensation includes a base salary, equity, and full benefits.

Base salary range:

$150K – $200K
