You’ll join our tight-knit, early-stage team, where you’ll solve interesting technical challenges and shape the direction of the product. We’re at a pivotal moment as a company as we scale our existing products and explore new verticals. As an early engineer on the team, you’ll work across the stack and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to own key product and engineering initiatives.

• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to shape roadmap priorities, define great user experiences, and drive product direction

• Work full-stack to own features end-to-end - from early exploration and prototyping to implementation, launch, and ongoing iteration

• Build scalable, high-quality systems while solving complex technical challenges in performance, architecture, and reliability

• Continuously improve our codebase, infrastructure, and development practices - balancing speed with quality through well-tested code and thoughtful trade-offs

• Contribute to technical leadership by driving architectural decisions, shaping engineering standards, and helping grow the team through interviewing and improving the hiring process

• 3+ years of software development experience as an IC.

• This is a fullstack position, but we're open to frontend leaning or backend leaning candidates! Let us know which you are in the application form

• Have strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems.

• Write high-quality code, value software testing, and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.

• Have a startup mindset: you’re resourceful, adaptable, and not afraid of ambiguity.

• Enjoy learning new tools, technologies, and methodologies to stay at the cutting edge.

• Able to work effectively in a remote setting and able to overlap with our core hours of 9 AM to 12 PM PT.

• Create the best crypto accounting subledger, with a complex rules engine that automatically categories journal entries

• Build out a crypto portfolio tracker that supports seeing your staking rewardscy users

• Scale and performance — processing billions of data points and supporting users with millions of transactions efficiently

• Complex logic — building systems for transfer detection, cost basis tracking, and tax optimization using solid algorithmic foundations

• Blockchain integration — working with raw blockchain data, xPubs, smart contracts, and running our own nodes to support a wide range of assets and protocols

• System complexity — integrating with hundreds of exchanges and wallets while maintaining accuracy, reliability, and observability

• Product discovery — identifying user needs, exploring use cases, and iterating quickly to find product-market fit and deliver real value

• Web: HTML, Typescript, React, React Native, TailwindCSS

• Mobile: React Native, Expo, GraphQL

• Backend: Python, Flask, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, Python RQ, Temporal

• Infrastructure: GCP, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Docker, Pub/Sub, Datadog, PagerDuty

• You don’t need to know any or all of these, but be willing to learn!

The starting salary for this position is between $146,000 - $175,000 USD. Candidate's location does not impact the posted salary range. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors including relevant skills, education, and experience. This position also includes equity in CoinTracker and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
