Mold Masters is looking for a Machine Designer to join our E-Multi team in Georgetown Ontario. As a Product Development Engineer II, you will be responsible for complete design execution of high quality, high performance, reliable and cost-effective designs for E-Multi and Motion Control related products.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and innovative self-starter to be part of our growing E-Multi auxiliary injection unit team

You will lead projects through the full product development life cycle from brainstorming sessions, detailed design and analysis, prototype build and testing and product launch

You’ll be part of a fast-paced growing business producing world-class, sophisticated industrial machines for a global market
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete design execution with minimal guidance, applying sound design standards

System level design solutions collaborating with multi-discipline teams
-
Create concept layouts, part models and drawings for reliable and cost effect designs

Complete assembly drawings and generate accurate BOMs released to SAP

Create design documents, validation plans and test reports
-
Assemble and test prototypes

Actively contribute to the design review process, risk assessments and DFMA process

Evaluate existing patent documents and drawings and support patent applications

Lead continuous improvement activities and productivity improvements

Support Sales team by reviewing technical inquiries and proposing innovative and viable solution
Requirements:
-
A University Degree in Engineering, with a minimum of five to eight (5-8) years related work experience, and P.Eng eligible

Highly skilled in modeling and detailing techniques (SolidWorks 2023 and higher)

Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5M drafting standards, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis

Previous experience as a Machine Designer is required

Skilled in design calculations and strong problem solving skills

Skilled in manufacturing practices (machining, fabrication, casting, sheet metal)

Current working knowledge of FEA (ANSYS) is strongly preferred

Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail
-
Demonstrates attention to detail while maintaining focus on overall objectives and task completion

Experience with SAP is preferred
