As a Product Design Intern, you’ll work closely with experienced designers, engineers, and product managers to create thoughtful, user-centered solutions. You’ll be expected to contribute to real projects, learn how to apply design processes, and build the foundations for a career in product design.

This internship is designed for bachelor’s and master’s-level design students who want hands-on experience contributing to digital product design, user research, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

*This is a 12 week internship program.

In this role, you will: 

  • Contribute to execution by designing features and flows with guidance from senior designers and design leadership
  • Support larger projects and/or take ownership of a small, well-scoped design effort
  • Conduct research and proactively seek information to understand user needs, business context, and project goals
  • Articulate design rationale clearly in critiques and team discussions
  • Collaborate across disciplines, knowing when to bring in partners from product, engineering, or research
  • Incorporate feedback graciously and iterate quickly on designs
  • Manage time effectively and deliver on commitments within project timelines
  • Contribute to team culture, whether through collaboration, peer support, or side initiatives

Please apply if: 

  • Education: You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in design (HCI, interaction, visual design, product design, or related field)
  • You bring empathy, curiosity, and creativity to your work
  • Design competency — you are strong in at least one design competency (e.g., interaction, visual, UX research) and capable in another
  • Curiosity and drive — you are comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Collaboration skills — you enjoy learning from others and actively contributing to group discussions

Strong Preference:  

  • Have prior internship or co-op experience in product design, UX, or related fields
  • Are proficient with design tools such as Figma, Understand the basics of design systems and responsive design
  • Can show a portfolio that demonstrates strong craft, process, and storytelling

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The hourly rate for this Toronto, Canada based role is $38 CAD.
