Job Description
Chase Merchant Services is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Product Delivery Manager to join the Canadian Project Management team. The Project Manager / Product Delivery Manager will be responsible for managing multiple initiatives of variable sizes and ensuring project delivery is on time, on budget, on scope and within quality constraints including all aspects of project execution, interaction with, and managing the Line of Business relationships. You will also be expected to manage projects through the application of generally accepted project management principles, based in PMI disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand Canadian business priorities, issues, challenges and requirements, and dependencies/impact to other areas, including key strategic initiatives impacting Canada
- Manages and coordinates cross functional teams across the Canadian and US business and product groups as needed in the delivery of the project requirements
- Ensures effective communications exist among executives, team members, and stakeholders
- Creation of detailed project charters that clearly defines project goals and objectives, governance structure, project plans with defined milestones that identify the project critical path, and metrics and other measurements to capture benefit realization.
- Proactive management of resource loading, work breakdown structures, issue/risk tracking and resolution
- Ensures the change control process and structure are in place and adhered to, managing and documenting changes to project scope, impacts to plan, and budget
- Analyzes project risks & impacts; make relevant recommendations to steering committee and senior management to mitigate issues
- Establishes and maintains working relationships across the project team and is responsible for relationship building with technology management, business management, program sponsors, vendors and business clients and acts as a communication channel between technology and the business for ongoing project management status and issues
- Ensures that project and implementation plans are created and maintained for all projects and initiatives to appropriately manage and control project activities
- Lead the planning, organization, and execution of cross-functional business improvement projects and programs;
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in Project Management or 5+ years of relevant experience in the Payments Processing or related technology field
- PMP or other project management certification
- Demonstrated experience in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid Project Management methodologies
- Experience in scoping, executing and delivery of complex platform developments
- Firm understanding of the front and back-end environments and processes for merchant acquiring and payment processing including POS devices, end-to-end transaction flow, interchange and merchant funding
Skills:
- Established familiarity with Payments Processing industry and related technology
- Proven experience working with senior management and executive teams
- Demonstrated competence in leadership, team building, time management, organizational management, technical development, customer interface, and multiple stakeholder communications
- Demonstrated written, oral, and personal skills that can bridge understanding between Business, IT and Customers
- Development and writing of detailed, actionable requirements. Proficient in developing and documenting use cases, developing process flow diagrams
- Proficient in the use of JIRA and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio)
