Role Description

We are actively looking for a Procurement Specialist (Toronto) to join and support QuadReal’s Operational Excellence Team.

Reporting into the Director, Procurement. The Procurement Specialist will be the lead Subject Matter Expert available to the properties to support the execution of strategic procurement activities. They will play a key role in delivering the facilitation services and be the key point of contact for the properties to determine the level of support required from the Procurement COE for the various services. The Procurement Specialist will work in strategic Procurement COE projects in collaboration with other members of the Procurement COE. They will also determine and coordinate the involvement of internal QuadReal and external Subject Matter Experts as required by the procurement activities at the property level.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Procurement Support: Build relationships with key stakeholders, promote the Procurement COE's services, and guide user groups through RFP/RFQ processes to ensure alignment with procurement strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Category & Sourcing Strategies: Facilitate sourcing and category strategies to enhance procurement effectiveness, optimize supplier selection, and support competitive procurement initiatives.
  • Procurement Systems & Process Management: Oversee procurement systems to ensure process adoption, data integrity, and business alignment, while implementing standardized procurement processes for efficiency.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze procurement data from ERP systems, transforming insights into reports that support procurement strategies and decision-making.
  • Vendor & Performance Management: Assist in vendor selection, management, and performance evaluation to maintain high-quality service and supplier relationships.
  • Facilitation & Knowledge Sharing: Lead procurement-led forums and meetings, including bi-monthly sessions with business group leads, and drive Procurement COE initiatives such as training, technology implementation, and best practice sharing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Operations & Supply Chain Management is an asset.
  • Five years of experience in strategic procurement roles.
  • Previous experience working in corporation of national/international presence with operations in multiple sites across the country.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience with ERP systems and how they work is desirable. Previous experience with e-procurement tools is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of contract law and contract management/administration is an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in reading and interpreting raw data. Ability to synthesize disparate qualitative information into a cohesive narrative and summary.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
  • Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction but also contributing to the direction.
  • Must be extremely proactive and work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance but then move projects forward independently.
