About the Role:

As the Procurement Manager at Wave, you will lead seamless procurement processes in the ever-evolving realms of financial services and SaaS technology. Source, negotiate, and optimize contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. Collaborate closely with department heads, Accounts Payable, Finance to drive value, as well as manage our Client Lifecycle Management system and Supplier Risk Management program. You will play a central role in shaping Wave’s procurement strategy and transforming processes to drive cross-functional efficiency and cost savings across the organization.

Here’s How You Make an Impact:

  • Oversee procurement processes, vendor management and contract management, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and compliance standards
  • Use your knowledge of the contracting lifecycle to implement procurement policies and SLAs, procedures, and best practices to streamline purchasing activities, optimize vendor performance
  • Source, negotiate and execute contracts while ensuring cross-functional alignment, including department heads, Finance, and Legal 
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Wave’s technology stack and key vendors, and build strong relationships with these key vendors to unlock value and drive savings
  • You'll cultivate a culture of compliance by leading the advancement of our vendor oversight objectives to meet Money Transmission License regulatory requirements and staying aligned with industry best practices. Be an advocate for processes and controls to mitigate risks, while holding our third parties accountable to their service level expectations. 
  • Manage the systems and processes for contract lifecycle tracking, renewal notifications, and compliance monitoring, ensuring a seamless contract management experience for all stakeholders.
  • Support cross-departmental teams to mature procurement strategies and enhance process efficiency. Your collaborative efforts will drive key outcomes, optimizing cost-effectiveness and ensuring seamless integration of services and tools across the company. 
  • Lead ongoing improvement efforts within the procurement department by examining data, pinpointing opportunities for improvement, and executing strategies to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and provide tangible benefits to the company.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate vendor performance thoroughly and provide strategic recommendations aimed at optimizing partnership strategies.
  • Assist with review and execution of NDAs, vendor contract renewals, amendments, and vendor termination processes.Facilitate vendor meetings, quarterly business reviews, communications, drafting agendas and taking minutes. 

You'll Thrive Here By Possessing the Following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Project Manager) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles, with proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships
  • Experience with e-procurement platforms, contract management systems, and supplier databases (e.g. Onspring, Coupa, Workday). Relevant experience in financial services or technology sector is preferred. Experience in negotiations, and a demonstrated ability to achieve favourable terms and conditions. Ability to assess and balance legal, financial and enterprise risks.
  • Demonstrated experience building working relationships internally and serving as a business partner to department heads, with superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal stakeholders at all levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize work within time constraints and coordinate with stakeholders accordingly 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven track record on continuous improvement of processes to drive efficiency gains and deliver desired business outcomes
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices related to procurement processes and contract management.
