As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Process Engineering Operator in Waterloo.

Job Summary:

The Process Engineering Operator supports engineering activities such as design, test, fabrication, and assembly of prototype and production electro-optical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics, and optics systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, cleaning and inspection, quality assurance, and trouble-shooting functions. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, assembly and alignment equipment, measurement systems, and microscopes.

Detailed Description:

The Process Engineering Operator will work closely with Process Engineering as well as technical personnel from other disciplines within the company to execute and sustain the production processes of the group. This will be a hands-on role, focusing on completing specialized assembly processes and critical quality assurance, cleaning, inspection, and reporting tasks both in and outside the cleanroom. Work may include using machine programs for assembly (wire bonding, die bonding, wafer dicing), inspection, and measurement activities supporting group manufacturing efforts.

Other responsibilities, but not limited to :

  • Identifying and communicating process improvement opportunities;

  • Compiling inspection results and report preparation;

  • Documenting and presenting data and findings;

  • Working with designers and process to resolve issues discovered during builds;

  • Supporting the training of resources within Manufacturing to assemble new products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in technical field;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • The ability to create clear and concise reports;

  • The ability to collaborate well as a member of a multidisciplinary team;

  • Fast learner with a focus on quality;

  • Excellent attention to detail and diligence in task completion;

  • Knowledge of semiconductor and/or electronics manufacturing methods and practices an asset;

  • Experience with specialized assembly of intricate mechanical, optical, or semiconductor devices an asset;
