Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining workflows using native Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira and Confluence tools and APIs to streamline processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual work, requiring skills in scripting (Python/REST), API integration, system administration, and collaboration with technical and non-technical teams to drive efficiency and support AI/ML initiatives. The role is focused on leveraging automation to improve teamwork and operational clarity.  You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications in a fast-paced, agile environment. The candidate is expected to have at least 3-5 years of experience. 
Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Design & Implementation: Creating complex automation rules (triggers, conditions, actions) for JSM, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Integration: Connecting Atlassian products with external tools (Slack, Teams, Salesforce) using webhooks and APIs.
  • Scripting & Development: Using Python, PowerShell, or REST APIs for custom automation and integrations.
  • System Administration: Configuring Atlassian and related products (workflows, fields, permissions) for optimal automation.
  • Collaboration: Partnering with product owners, engineers, and business teams to identify needs and deliver solutions.
  • Support & Maintenance: Troubleshooting issues, managing defects, and ensuring system performance. 
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and data transformation.
  • Scripting (Python/PowerShell) and integration tool experience.
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, Tech Ops/Technical Support, ITIL, DevOps, CI/CD, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience with AI/ML concepts is a plus for advanced roles. 
Required Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity to define clear solutions.
  • Languages & Frameworks: Java, JavaScript, Spring, Node.js, Angular, React.js, JSF
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Tech Ops, pipelines
  • APIs & Services: REST, SOAP, JSON, PINGFederate, SAML
  • Tools & Testing: Postman, Swagger, JUnit, Jasper
  • Architecture & Design: Microservices architecture, secure authentication, performance optimization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture pattern
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Education 
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Compensation 
  • Good faith annual salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 CAD. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
