Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
Role Mission
As a Principal Product Manager in JSM Growth, you will set the vision and strategy for a critical segment of our self-serve funnel (e.g., signup, activation, onboarding, monetisation). You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business outcomes, drive experimentation at scale, and influence the direction of JSM and Atlassian's broader growth strategy.
What You'll Do
  • Set Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate a compelling vision for your growth area, aligned with Atlassian and JSM's strategic priorities.
  • Drive Outcomes: Own ambitious OKRs (e.g., signups, activation, conversion, retention) and deliver measurable impact through product changes and experiments.
  • Lead Experimentation: Design, prioritize, and run high-velocity experiments (A/B tests, pricing/packaging, onboarding flows) to validate hypotheses and unlock growth.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Inspire and align Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and GTM partners around your strategy and roadmap.
  • Customer & Market Insight: Leverage deep customer empathy, data analysis, and market research to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
  • Scale Impact: Mentor and coach PMs across JSM and Growth; contribute to the evolution of Atlassian's product management craft.
  • Influence at Scale: Represent JSM Growth in product leadership forums, influence company-wide growth initiatives, and present at internal/external events.
  • Operational Excellence: Proactively identify and resolve dependencies, risks, and blockers across teams and functions.

About you:
  • Experience: 10+ years in product management, with at least 2+ years at Principal/Lead PM level in SaaS, B2B, or PLG environments.
  • Growth Expertise: Proven track record of driving self-serve growth, funnel optimisation, and experimentation at scale.
  • Strategic Thinker: Able to set and articulate a clear vision, sequence work, and pivot strategy in response to data and market shifts.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Expert in using data, cohort analysis, and experimentation to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Influential Leader: Inspires and aligns cross-functional teams; recognised as a thought leader and mentor within and beyond your team.
  • Customer Obsessed: Deep empathy for users; skilled at blending qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Excellent Communicator: Confident, clear, and compelling in both written and verbal communication; able to influence at all levels.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of SaaS, service management, and/or Atlassian's ecosystem is a strong plus.
