The Role
Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.
We are looking for a visionary Principal Product Manager to architect the future of how we interact with our users. You will lead the strategy and scaling of our foundational Personalization Framework, transforming Cedar Pay into an intelligent and predictive experience. This is a high-impact platform role, acting as a force-multiplier for the internal squads who build atop your platform.
What You’ll Do
- Scale and Optimize the Personalization Engine: Evolve our existing ML capabilities into a world-class system that leverages deep learning to deliver the right message, payment option, or insight at the precise moment of need, reducing friction in the patient financial journey.
- Own the Intelligence Strategy: Define the multi-year roadmap for Cedar Pay’s AI vision to create AI-driven patient journeys that anticipate needs by leveraging Cedar’s proprietary data to "meet patients where they are" with empathy and precision.
- Enable Product Squads: Act as the internal champion for consuming teams. Define clear APIs, integration mechanisms, and documentation to ensure the platform’s value is seamlessly unlocked across the organization.
- Guide Front-End Experience: Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams responsible for the UI to ensure effective consumption of the platform's intelligence.
- Drive Rigorous Experimentation: Lead a culture of hypothesis-driven development, using large-scale A/B testing to validate how ML interventions impact financial behavior and user satisfaction.
- Connect Strategy to ROI: Align the AI roadmap with Cedar’s core business outcomes, ensuring that investments in personalization translate into measurable improvements in patient satisfaction and collection efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ Years of Product Leadership: You have a proven track record of shipping complex products, with at least 3 years specifically focused on ML-driven personalization or recommendation systems.
- AI/ML Fluency: You understand data pipelines, feature engineering, model training, and the nuances of Gen AI integration.
- Data-Obsessed: You are an expert in experimentation design and know how to interpret complex data to pivot strategy.
- Platform Mindset: You have experience building foundational capabilities (SDKs, APIs, or Internal Tools) that serve as a force-multiplier for other teams.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align engineering, data science, and business teams on a unified vision.
- High-Bar Leader: You are a self-starter who naturally raises the bar for those around you, leading by example to inspire your team. You possess the hunger to solve complex problems and the ambition to challenge the status quo while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment.

- Industry Context: Experience in FinTech, AdTech, HealthTech, or E-commerce.
- AI-Enhanced Workflow: You leverage AI tools in your daily PM workflow to accelerate discovery and documentation.
Compensation Range and Benefits:
- Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $221,000 - $260,000
- This role is equity eligible
