We are seeking a highly skilled principal level Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in driving our data and analytics strategy and contributing to our overall business objectives. The ideal candidates will have a passion for data, skilled at uncovering insights, and the technical expertise to implement solutions that propel our business forward. 

You are passionate about delivering proactive insights and partnering with stakeholders to generate analysis that influence product roadmap decisions. You will play a pivotal role in empowering product teams by surfacing valuable customer and product usage data and acting a thought partner, guiding them in turning insights into strategic actions. Your expertise in uncovering trends and translating large streams of data into clear, actionable insights will drive forward platform strategic initiatives and elevate decision-making across our organization.

This role will be based in Toronto, ON, Canada This role reports to the Senior Manager, Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to identify, define, and address business problems and opportunities through data analysis. Use your analytical skills to derive actionable insights from large and complex datasets
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) across platform initiatives, providing regular updates and insights to key stakeholders and ensuring visibility into data-driven insights that support organizational goals
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to understand their data needs, provide analytical support, and communicate findings in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Create clear and impactful data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Looker, or similar, to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization
  • Proactively mine for data drive insights to support initiatives, focusing on performance, user engagement, and overall business impact.
  • Develop and implement advanced data models and statistical analyses to forecast trends, predict outcomes, and optimize decision-making processes across platform initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity by following best practices in data collection, cleaning, and analysis, allowing for high-quality insights. Identify and resolve data discrepancies as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in large data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field, preferably within a technology or SaaS environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Strong skills in data querying and manipulation with SQL, and proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for data analysis and modeling
  • Experience with data warehouse ELT tools (Airflow, dbt, Snowflake)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, or similar, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and impactful dashboards. Familiarity with AWS, Azure or similar cloud platforms
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently on complex datasets and derive actionable insights
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and modeling methodologies to drive in-depth data insights and support predictive analytics
  • Strong ability to communicate complex data insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner
  • Effective team player with a strong ability to work across functions, engage with diverse stakeholders, and provide data-driven support for strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a SaaS company or a platform engineering organization is preferred
  • Familiarity with Autodesk’s product portfolio and its applications in various industries is an advantage
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
