Principal Associate, HR Risk Specialist
Principal Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent stakeholder management, organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Our Canada HR Risk Team is seeking a highly motivated Principal associate to lead our HR Risk processes.
Responsibilities
As a Principal Risk Associate in Capital One Canada's Human Resources team you will be responsible for working with the Enterprise HR Risk Office to bring improved processes and governance to our Canada HR Risk Team. Applying your risk/process management, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills, you will strengthen the overall risk environment in Canada HR through enhanced process improvements, training and governance. Other responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee and manage all Canada HR risk processes
  • Provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing risk policies and programs
  • Prioritize and coordinate risk initiatives with the Enterprise HR Risk Office and Canada HR team
  • Advise Canada HR to implement and sustain effective processes and controls
  • Facilitate detection and recovery of risk issues and events
  • Support regulatory changes to ensure compliance within Canada HR
  • Provide training to Stakeholders as needed
  • Own and maintain metrics and reporting for management
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise HR Risk Office on timely delivery of HR Governance Roadmap
  • Provide oversight and guidance during risk assessments
  • Support audits and regulatory exams of our business partners' organizations
  • Lead the Canada business Health & Safety process
  • Maintain industry knowledge and identify upcoming trends
  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the risk office on a periodic basis

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training
  • At least 2 years of Financial Services, Risk Management, Compliance or Audit Experience
  • At least 3 years of Project Management or Process Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in process management
  • At least 5 years of experience working in Risk Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
