  • Develop and maintain electrical system models using PSCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or similar software platforms.
  • Perform electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies to evaluate system behavior during switching events, faults, utility disturbances, and large load changes.
  • Analyze the impact of high-density AI loads and other mission-critical electrical loads on utility systems, emergency generation, UPS systems, and facility electrical infrastructure.
  • Support utility interconnection studies and coordinate with utility providers regarding service requirements and system performance.
  • Evaluate system reliability, redundancy strategies, contingency scenarios, and overall power system resiliency.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, study documentation, and engineering recommendations.
  • Collaborate with electrical design teams on medium-voltage systems, substations, standby generation, UPS systems, mechanical system electrical load characteristics, and utility service infrastructure.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, utility providers, and project stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning activities and provide technical expertise during project execution.
  • Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable industry standards.

What We Expect

  • Proficiency with PSCAD is required.
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CYME, or similar power system analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, utility infrastructure, substations, protective relaying, and system reliability.
  • Experience with utility interconnections and medium-voltage power systems.
  • Experience performing underground duct bank ampacity and heat studies (Neher-McGrath methodology) is considered an asset.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, or eligibility to obtain registration, is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA standards, IEEE standards, utility requirements, and applicable provincial electrical regulations. Familiarity with U.S. codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE) is considered an asset.
  • Excellent technical writing, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical findings and recommendations to clients.
  • Experience supporting data center, utility, industrial, or other large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on cutting-edge hyperscale and AI data center projects in one of the world's fastest-growing industries.
  • Collaborate with industry-leading professionals on complex mission-critical infrastructure projects across North America.
  • Enjoy competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and outstanding career development opportunities.
