Salary: $54,902 to $93,333 per year

Status: Temporary Full-Time, two-year contract with an initial three-month probation period

Position Summary:  
Working under the direct supervision of Dr. Praloy Chakraborty, Clinician Investigator in the Division of Cardiology, Electrophysiology Section, the candidate will be an integral member of an established patient-oriented translational research program in cardiovascular autonomics and cardiac electrophysiology. The program focuses on understanding and treating cardiac arrhythmias through integrative approaches linking autonomic dysregulation, cardiac metabolism, and electrophysiological remodeling. A central emphasis is the development and evaluation of neuromodulation-based therapies, including auricular vagal neuromodulation, as non-invasive strategies to restore sympathovagal balance and reduce arrhythmia burden. Research activities include advanced autonomic phenotyping, wearable and ambulatory monitoring, biomarker discovery (autonomic, inflammatory, and metabolomic), and early-phase clinical studies. The overarching goal is to translate mechanistic insights into patient-centered therapeutic strategies for conditions such as IST, POTS, vasovagal syncope, and atrial fibrillation. Infrastructure includes: Advanced Autonomic Function Testing Lab, Wearable ECG monitoring, Clinical electrophysiology integration.

Qualifications

  • MD (preferred) or PhD in relevant field (physiology, health science, clinical research) or equivalent postdoctoral experience with experience in clinical translational research.
  • Proven experience in writing and publishing clinical research papers, preferably in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodology, data analysis, and statistical principles.
  • Excellent scientific writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with manuscript submission processes, journal selection, and peer-review management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex scientific information for broad audiences.
  • Experience with reference management tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero) and knowledge of academic publishing standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for clinical research in transplantation preferred
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS) or data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong organizational and interdisciplinary collaboration skills preferred
  • Understand Matlab or an equivalent programming language preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred
  • Leadership skills for multidisciplinary collaboration preferred
