The Portfolio Analyst will support the multi-asset management team by conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, monitoring portfolio performance, and assisting with trading. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of global markets, investment vehicles, and risk management.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support portfolio managers to execute and reconcile ETF, bond, currency and derivatives trades
- Work closely with internal central trading desk to execute trades with external parties
- Follow up on trade settlement problems and resolve
- Develop reports to enhance portfolio monitoring process, by maintaining/upgrading existing Excel Macros and implement new solutions
- Perform general trading related securities analysis
- Market intelligence (including information gathering and monitoring).
- Ensure the investments comply with the IPS and regulatory requirements.
- Write performance reports, MRFPs and commentaries
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 2+ years of full-time experience in the investment industry
- Prior experience in a trading capacity with an investment company is preferred
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, economics or finance
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Good understanding of the investment industry regulations, NI 81-102
- Experience using Bloomberg, Charles Rivers and ability to learn new trading tools
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Effective time-management and ability to learn, prioritize, and execute quickly
- Working knowledge of Industry back office practices and financial markets and instruments
- Work effectively and reliably under pressure with minimal supervision
- Solid conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Strong logic and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
