Marmon Industrial Water designs and manufactures water and wastewater treatment equipment solutions, under the brand names Graver Water Systems and Ecodyne. Our technologies include raw water pretreatment, degasification, hot lime softening, boiler make-up, condensate polishing, wastewater treatment, cooling, and oil/water separation for markets such as petrochemical/chemical, power generation and heavy industrial plants. 

Marmon Industrial Water is currently seeking a PLC Programmer/Automation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, skills and experience required to design and develop instrumentation and controls systems.

Responsibilities

The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not exhaustive.  

  • Prepare detailed drawings, including loop diagrams, schematic wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials based on company standards and customer requirements.
  • Create logic and cause & effect diagrams based on experience and company templates.
  • Program PLCs and HMI (e.g. Rockwell, Allen Bradley, etc) and configure SCADA systems.
  • Understand process instruments and their installation, tuning and hookup.
  • Review and develop technical specification and project documentation.
  • Lead and contribute to automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring execution and adherence to project goals and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department on equipment modifications
  • Design electrical schematics in AutoCAD for equipment changes
  • Troubleshoot HMI, PLC, Electronic control, and communication network issues effectively.
  • Provide technical direction and support to field technicians during installation, testing and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7 – 10 years of PLC/HMI programming experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, control system network architectures and VFD configuration.
  • Experience leading large-scale industrial engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, controls and process engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of DCS (PCS) systems.
  • Continuous learning mindset and staying updated on industry advancements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and maintain cooperative relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.

Additional Information

  • This role may require up to 20% travel throughout North America
  • Physical demands may vary and could include extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of objects.
