Objective

Works under the direction of the Automation & Equipment Build Group Manager to assist in developing the startup of automation projects of all process lines

 Essential Responsibilities

• Ability to read, program and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic or other PLC based machine codes to resolve complex problems and/or optimize machine performance.
• Full lifecycle programming of PLCs, including the development of relay/ladder Logic
• Specific PLC I/O addressing assignments
• Identify and diagnose problems with little information remotely and on location to resolving mechanical/software issues, operating system bugs and reinstalling software or hardware.
• Lead and assist in system troubleshooting and repairs. Determine root causes of electrical failure and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide on-site and remote support for installed systems requiring technical service assistance, including support on legacy systems
• Capable of ladder edits, transfers and installation of updated software using remote access tools
• Ability to integrate and/or modify controls to existing processes
• Setup and configuration of HMI stations
• Configure AC/DC drives and Servos
• Test Newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of specifications
• Provide lead or review for new equipment implementation, control system installations and modifications

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience programming PLC’s
• Experience with Omron or RS Logix 5000 PLC Controls is required
• Experience with ladder logic and ability to create and interpret ladder logic diagrams
• Robotic programming and/or motion/servo experience
• Experience with controls integrating electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to comprehend both written and verbal English language
• Ability to work on many projects simultaneously

• Associate’s Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree

Travel Required:  up to 10%

Physical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job, the employee consistently is required to use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
