The Role:
Our team is looking for a Platform Engineer (12 month contract) to join our operations team and help shape Kobo’s platform ecosystem. At Kobo, we develop software across a rich set of domains, including hardware devices, eCommerce, content rendering, and data & intelligence. This diversity requires robust processes and patterns to enable our development teams to build great products quickly.
What You Get To Do:
- Play a key role in the re-platforming of our development infrastructure from SCM, to Ci/Cd pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and observability tooling.
- Help design and build the interfaces through which the development teams interface with the infrastructure
- Keep current with emerging development patterns, ways of working, and evolution of the platforms they own
- Maintain 24/7 availability for responsible systems and participate in paid on-call rotation
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of experience building and maintaining high-quality software
- 7+ years of building development infrastructure on cloud platforms
- Experience building software systems at scale and heading transformation projects
- Experience with Github Actions, ArgoCd, Helm, Kubernetes & DataDog
- Great communication skills both with technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Great at mentoring others, being an evangelist for best practices
- Deep understanding of various architectural patterns and the tradeoffs therein
