How You Will Contribute:
Ciena is looking for an intern to join the PIC Test and Chip Engineering team. The PIC Test and Chip Engineering team is responsible for developing and implementing test solutions, electro-optical characterization, data analysis, reliability studies, and yield analysis for Photonic Integrated Circuit devices used in Ciena’s present and future high-speed photonic components.
We seek for an optical engineer to help and support test development and measurements for a semiconductor optical amplifier project.

Characterization of active and passive photonic devices

Test development and automation.

Data analysis and results interpretation
The Must Haves:
-
Working towards completion of a master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics

Foundational knowledge of photonic devices is required
-
Demonstrated proficiency with optical measurement, characterization, analysis

Skilled with programming with MATLAB/Python
-
Team working skills
-
Presentation, reporting, and communication skills
Assets:
-
Experience in test development with C#
-
Knowledge about laser physics
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $24.50-$33.00/hour CAD
