PhD Residency/Postdoc - PQC Research Scientist
The Sandbox team is looking for PhD residents and Postdocs interested in doing research in any area of post-quantum cryptography. The position is remote but we have funds to allow travel to meet other team members. We are open to strong candidates that reinforce existing expertise of the team as well as candidates extending our expertise. Core Responsibilities:
- Research and design new quantum-resistant cryptographic primitives or attacks
- Implement and validate innovative cryptographic constructions and/or protocols
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong background in post-quantum cryptography design and / or cryptanalysis
- Deep understanding of cryptographic protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong publication record
- Programming experience
Details:
- Location: Remote in North America or Europe
- Start date: Year-round, on a rolling basis
- Duration: Flexible, typically between 4 months to one year
- Eligibility
- For PhD residencies: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in cryptography (or defended less than a year ago). **Currently enrolled non-PhD post-graduate students may be considered on a case-by-case basis as Master Interns (e.g. currently enrolled in MD, Masters)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $100k - $135k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
