The mandate of the New Markets and Cultural Communities Strategy Development Department is to strengthen Desjardins’s presence within racialized communities and expand into new markets. The department focuses on fostering a strong sense of belonging to Desjardins early in the member journey, creating networking opportunities for new members and building community connections. It works closely with caisse general managers and Desjardins Business centre managers to guide market-development strategies in areas where local caisses are not present. Its goal is to increase market share across territories, businesses and cultural communities, while supporting the development of a mobile, flexible and agile service offering. As a personal finance advisor within the New Markets and Cultural Communities Strategy Development Department at the Toronto Branch, you support members and clients by serving them, prospecting for new opportunities, soliciting business and developing and maintaining strong relationships. You provide service based on client needs and in accordance with strategies and practices. You help develop and maintain business relationships with members and clients. You drive results by handling unusual or special client requests and by promoting and selling specialized products and services that are tailored to their needs. You ensure member/client satisfaction and service quality in accordance with the organization’s standards and procedures. You help analyze member/client needs, develop and implement personalized solutions, and propose integrated service offers. You assist current and potential members and clients, represent the organization and help negotiate agreements with clients. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Establish an advisory relationship by identifying current and potential needs and supporting client retention.

  • Advise members and clients on specialized products, services and solutions and ensure their satisfaction. Analyze and meet special client needs, handle requests and follow up as needed.

  • Collect, compile and analyze data. Write reports and make recommendations.

  • Stay on top of the latest standards, products and services in your field.

What you bring to the table

  • College diploma in a related field

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Mutual fund representative certificate from the Ontario Securities Commission

  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Knowledge of the caisse network and its various distribution channels

  • Understanding of the needs and realities of clients from racialized communities and newcomers, including awareness of their regional contexts of arrival (Quebec, Montreal, Ontario)✈️

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with partners🚗

  • Availability to work evenings when required⌚
