We’re committed to offering a competitive, transparent, and fair experience from the very start. The base salary range for this role, based in Windsor, is $85,000 - 108,000. Role Overview
As a Workforce Controller, you play a critical and strategic role in managing and optimizing staff cost and reporting planning across Pernod Ricard North America. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and forward-looking management of Payroll & Benefits forecasting through annual budgets, Rolling Forecasts, and monthly proxied actuals.
You act as a key advisor to senior leadership by providing data-driven insights and financial intelligence that influence workforce planning, organizational efficiency, and cost optimization. Your role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate complex workforce cost data into actionable business strategies.
In this capacity, you collaborate with People & Experience (P&E) leadership, People Business Partners, Group Workforce Planning, and Finance teams, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to staff cost management. Your expertise directly supports financial discipline, talent strategy execution, and long-term business sustainability.

What you’ll do:
- Support Workforce cost strategy – Design and execute Payroll & Benefits budget scenarios, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders, financial targets and business strategy.
- Own and optimize Workforce planning tools – Manage Workday Adaptive Staff Cost Planning, overseeing position requests, merit assumptions, and vacancy rate adjustments to maintain real-time accuracy.
- Drive financial planning & execution – Oversee staff cost forecasting cycles (Budget, Proxied Actuals, Rolling Forecast) in full compliance with Group financial guidelines.
- Analyze and reconcile staff costs – Partner with Compensation, Organiational Effectiness, Benefits & Retirement leadership to assess budget-to-actual variances, FTE shifts, and regulatory changes, delivering data-driven recommendations.
- Deliver high-impact insights – Build quarterly rolling budget estimates, analyze cost trends, and provide actionable intelligence to optimize workforce investments.
- Ensure financial accuracy – Calculate and submit staff cost provisions to accounting, ensuring compliance and precision in financial reporting.
- Report to senior leadership – Prepare and deliver monthly staff cost reports to senior leadership, incl. CODI level, providing clear insights on cost evolution and strategic workforce planning.
- Enhance systems & efficiency – Drive continuous improvement in cost planning tools and processes to maximize financial accuracy and operational agility.

What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in budgeting, financial planning, and workforce cost management, with a strong understanding of forecasting, turnover impact, and financial modeling.
- Expertise in workforce planning – Proven ability to analyze financials, FTE trends, organizational changes, and cost drivers to inform business decisions.
- Strategic & critical thinking – Ability to synthesize complex data, anticipate risks, and develop actionable solutions in high-pressure environments.
- Technical proficiency – Advanced skills in Workday (Adaptive preferred), Excel (modeling, pivot tables, financial functions), PowerPoint, and Word.
- Stakeholder relationship management – Strong ability to collaborate across P&E, Finance, and Senior Leadership, influencing decision-making with clear insights and recommendations.
- Process optimization & continuous improvement – Experience in enhancing financial planning tools, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Strong communication & executive reporting – Ability to present complex financial insights in a clear, concise, and strategic manner to senior stakeholders.
- High attention to detail – Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in all workforce cost-related financial processes.
