Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team and report to our VP, Finance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll across our numerous Global locations, ensuring compliance with local laws, supporting the month-end close process, assisting with implementing best-in-class procedures, as well as drive process improvements and transformation to scale the back office function to meet the fast-paced growth of the organisation.
This individual will be dynamic, detail oriented, and capable of collaborating across our HR, Payroll and Finance functions, our outsourced payroll partners, as well as working independently. They will help deliver structure, automation and strength to the payroll function.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day Payroll processing for monthly global payroll, compliance with local regulations and company policies. Coordinate with external payroll providers for accurate and timely execution. Control payroll reports and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies. Stay updated on payroll law changes across all countries.
- Resolve complex payroll processing & employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing.
- Develop and maintain a consolidated pay calendar for all countries, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance.
- Create scalable infrastructure and consistency for International payroll processes and reporting through automation
- Serve as the primary point of contact between payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Accounting.
- Support Monthly and Quarterly close by reconciling international payroll accounts.
- Have a sound knowledge of international benefits and how they impact payrol
- Ensure strict confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR). Implement robust data security measures.
- Any other tasks as assigned or required for the role
Qualifications
- Sound working knowledge of managing complex, global payrolls
- Understand multi-jurisdiction payroll and tax withholding compliance obligations
- Comfortable ensuring service levels are met whilst maintaining strong relationships and an accurate payroll function
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- Ability to collaborate & communicate effectively with internal partners on issues and provide recommendations
- Possess excellent attention to detail; excellent analytical, and reconciliation skills
- Advanced PC skills, specifically Excel spreadsheets, downloading, importing and exporting files and google suite.
- Experience working with Payroll platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Strong problem solver, possessing the ability to see how the different pieces of the puzzle fit together
- Ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise with the systems or data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
