Reporting to the Manager, Talent Operations and Programs , the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the processing of Canada payroll to ensure compliance with rules and regulations in a multi-provincial environment for Red Bull Canada, Red Bull Canada Distribution and Red Bull ULC (Chilliwack). The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide variety of payroll activities, including but not limited to: performing payroll analysis / validations, managing the administration of benefits and supporting on payroll related projects and initiatives. The candidate will work closely with our Accounting/Tax team and should have knowledge of Canada payroll tax laws and regulations. Job Description
PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for Red Bull Canada and Red Bull Canada Distribution.
Interpret pay policies (e.g., vacation, overtime, calculations based on deductions, withholding exemptions, etc.) and respond to payroll related inquiries from employees and/or key stakeholders.
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding and company deductions.
Maintain employee records in payroll systems.
Perform audit of payroll data prior to completion using a variety of reports, analysis and validation of payroll processing results.
Execution of year-end payroll reconciliation and T4 and RL1 issuance.
Main liaison with the Accounting / Tax team for reconciling questions, credits/debits to assist in timely resolution.
PAYROLL / TAX ASSISTANCE
Assist with Provincial WCB Reporting and general account maintenance with the Govt. bodies.
Assist with annual legislative and statutory reporting regarding EHTs, RL1, T2200s, WCB, etc.
Assess, monitor, and follow-up with all taxable benefit adjustments at year-end (e.g., company fleet, parking etc.).
Support with reconciling the detailed calculations for T4 and RL1 and respond to employee queries regarding the same.
Assist with the Stats Canada surveys for all Payroll items.
Provide relevant files for SAP uploads (e.g., payroll, monthly and year end accruals, bonus etc.).
Qualifications3+ years of experience working in a multi-provincial payroll environment.
Strong knowledge of general accounting, payroll tax, legal requirements and internal processes relating to Payroll administration.
Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or other payroll software (e.g., ADP).
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills - comfortable communicating with all levels of management across various divisions and departments.
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, organization, accuracy.
University Degree preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional, CPP preferred.
Fluent in English.
Additional InformationThe expected annual base salary range for this position is $69,350 to $80,000. The actual base salary for this position will depend on various factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and work location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of Red Bull’s bonus plan.
