About the Role

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function for our fast paced company. A big part of your responsibilities will be to supervise our payroll team, process full cycle payroll and support all internal and external audits related to payroll. Our ideal candidate is analytical, methodical and detail oriented, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of multi-locational payroll regulations.

About the Work

  • Lead a team of 1 Senior Payroll & Benefits specialist and offer any required support in day-to-day functions
  • Oversee CAD payroll of two pay groups with headcount of approx. 785 total
  • Review all payroll and benefits related submissions to ensure accuracy (payroll runs, tax remittance, taxable benefit recording, invoices, benefit enrollments)
  • Audit all payroll and benefits related systems regularly (time keeping, leave, RRSP, CanLife and HRIS systems)
  • Run various reports regularly and ad hoc for multiple departments
  • Work closely with both finance and HR for admin of various payments, Commissions, bonuses, RSU vesting and cashouts as well as monthly accrual reporting
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with ongoing taxation and reporting changes as per legislation
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers regarding any changes or issues (Desjardins, CanadaLife, Ultipro WFM, HUB)
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Provide high quality Employee service by ensuring timely resolutions of any inquiries or personal changes
  • Approve all new hire/terminations and employee job updates via Manager Self Service application in HRIS system
  • Maintain links to relevant informational pieces (RRSP, Parental Leave, Benefits brochure etc.)

About you

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is required.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to work on multiple projects at once
  • Aptitude for problem solving and ability to troubleshoot through issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various other departments and team members
  • Ability to adhere to date-driven timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in policy and system updates
  • High degree of integrity, discretion, strong work ethic and confidentiality
