About the Role
The Payroll Delivery Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, audit and delivery. This role involves managing the delivery team including supervisors/team leads and payroll specialists, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution while adhering to company policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Your Responsibilities
• Oversee the delivery of payroll services for a large corporation (100+ divisions with more than 45k employees) for weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly payrolls across USA and Canada.
o Lead the payroll team in processing payroll and benefit transactions accurately and timely manner complying with Service Level Agreements with business units.
o Review and approve payroll transactions as required, including salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their payroll needs and provide responsive in timely manner.
o Manage team of payroll delivery supervisors/team leads and specialists.• Compliance
o Maintain awareness of legislation, regulations, and standards related to payroll and benefits in order to ensure compliance within area of responsibility
o Establish best practices and maintain awareness of emerging issues related to payroll and benefits
o Ensure compliance related changes are disseminated to the payroll teams, documented and implemented as required.
o Oversee the payroll audit and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance requirements are fulfilled• System Expertise
o Provide training and guidance on payroll system processes & best practices
o Facilitate discovery sessions with Divisional Stakeholders to gather requirements for ongoing system and process enhancements.
o Collaborate with Application Management Support team to optimize support processes • Audits and Reviews
o Develop and establish payroll audit procedures and reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy,
o Investigate payroll incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements • Training & Process Improvement
o Collaborate with leadership to develop processing accuracy targets and measures for delivery team
o Continuously lead the analysis, measurement, review of payroll processes
o Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and practices to ensure quality and consistency and delivery against defined targets
o Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize payroll processes within a shared services framework, audit current practices and develop SOPs/Job Aids• Team Development
o Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team to ensure high performance and continuous improvements.
o Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development
o Develop and establish Resource planning, onboarding plans for SSC
Who we are looking for

  • Strong planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines with proven ability to manage competing priorities
  • Maintain sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Detail oriented with a superior track record of achieving high quality results
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting, metrics, and data validation
  • Experience in leading a team through transition and efficiency processes


Your preferred qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in managing payroll function for large enterprise (100+ Divisions with more than 45k employees) through a shared service delivery model
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in processing payroll and benefits using Ceridian Dayforce solution for US and CAN
  • Previous experience with leading a large payroll team in a remote environment.
  • Must be experienced in processing payroll for unionized business units
  • Expatriate/commuter payroll exposure is must
  • Strong understanding of US and CAN Tax and Garnishments
  • Experienced in GL/Accounting reconciliation, Reporting and Analytics an asset
  • Active CPM/CPP an asset
