Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage the accurate and timely processing  of payroll across multiple companies and provinces. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Workday and a solid  understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, including the nuances of multi-provincial payroll.
 

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;

  • Processing weekly/bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees across multiple companies and provinces, some
  • unionized.
  • Managing and ensuring compliance with provincial payroll laws, taxes, benefits, and deductions.
  • Utilizing Workday for payroll processing, ensuring accurate input of employee data, timekeeping, and
  • compensation adjustments.
  • Maintaining and updating employee payroll records in Workday.
  • Reconciling payroll discrepancies, including tax filings and benefits-related issues.
  • Ensuring timely remittance of statutory deductions to the appropriate authorities.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports.
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
  • Assisting with the preparation and auditing of year-end reports and T4/T4A slips.
  • Staying up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices across all provinces.
     

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll administration with multi-provincial payroll experience.
  • Strong proficiency in the Workday payroll system.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and tax laws across multiple provinces.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
  • Certification in Payroll (e.g., PCP, CPM) is preferred.
