Contract Duration: Up to 18 Months

The LCBO is embarking on an unparalleled enterprise-wide modernization of all IT infrastructure, systems and supports. The Organizational Design Lead, reporting to the Chief People Officer, requires working collaboratively with the FSM Program Director along with internal customers & stakeholders to design, execute and lead teams through organizational design initiatives of varying sizes and complexity, in the context of LCBO’s Future State Modernization (FSM) strategic project.

While the marketplace and consumer expectations continue to evolve, the technology landscape transformation will enable numerous benefits, both financial and non-financial including driving efficiencies through flexible and tightly connected systems, improving process orchestration, decreasing system downtime, and reducing exposure to security threat. This massive undertaking will require the expertise of a well-seasoned Organization Design Lead to ensure the future state operating model is underpinned by an efficient and effective organizational framework aligned with the LCBO’s value proposition and go-to-market strategies.

About the Role

  • Lead work streams across OD to deliver, recommend and develop OD solutions for areas of high business impact under FSM.
  • Engage with key stakeholders’ enterprise wide to shape their vision and strategy under FSM requirements, identifying blockers that will inform more in-depth organizational design review and OD strategy development.
  • Design, build, implement, evaluate, and refine key program deliverables (roadmaps, SOPs, templates, & tools) necessary to execute on OD key areas of focus.
  • Bring best practices to lead organizational design OD initiatives, including, but not limited to assessing and redesigning organizational frameworks, structures, layers and span of control, roles, competencies, and reporting structures.
  • Collaborate with Change Management (CM) and Corp Comms team members to connect the dots across multiple initiatives, in concert with overall program management around people, technology, and processes.
  • Create and execute comprehensive OD change management plans, including leadership alignment, communication and stakeholder engagement, training programs, and stakeholder engagement and ongoing adoption plans – all of which need to be coordinated across multiple program releases, multiple locations, and unique deployment scenarios.
  • Define the necessary governance routines, developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of organizational design changes.
  • Identify and assess key stakeholders including Business Transformation Partners, their needs and influence on organizational design and change initiatives.
  • Contribute to upskill the HR Division relevant team members and Business leaders on OD principles and the importance of organizational structure, roles, and competencies in meeting LCBO’s strategy and goals related to FSM.
  • Support the evolution of LCBO’s comprehensive Organization Design philosophy and team capabilities by designing and developing best-in-class tools and templates for successful project delivery.

About You

  • Masters degree in a related field
  • OD (or Organizational Effectiveness) Certificate Program – skills and expertise that help the organization thrive now and in the future.
  • 15+ years of relevant progressive professional experience that require different approaches to address complexity, scale, size, and speed.
  • OD and/or Organization Effectiveness practitioner with demonstrated skill leading end-to-end org design
  • Proven track record in diagnosing business challenges, designing solutions and delivering results through the implementation of strategic and tactical operating model and/or organizational design change
  • Proven experience in leading large organizational design projects in complex and unionized organizations.
  • Transformation experience of OD in a unionized environment
  • Project management skills and the demonstrated ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Extensive transformation delivery experience.
  • Collaborative consulting experience is a must, with proven ability to deliver lasting change.
  • Highly consultative with the ability to influence & drive change and outcomes across stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on customer experience and consulting acumen in support of teams and the development of solutions.
  • Results oriented self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and complexity.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to engage in or manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the complex and make it simple.
  • Thrives on change, learning agility, intellectually curious, appetite for risks, digital.
