We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator with expertise across Oracle, SQL Server, and Azure environments. This is a hybrid role based in Ontario, with a strong possibility of extension.
Role Overview
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will:
Create functional and technical specifications for database development.
Administer and optimize Oracle, Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure SQL databases.
Analyze requirements, design solutions, and support technical implementation.
Assist with SQL optimization, code reviews, and performance tuning.
Create, test, and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and security.
Support testing teams and ensure alignment with OPS standards.
Participate in knowledge transfer and documentation of technical work.
✅ Must-Have Skills
Strong technical expertise with Oracle Exadata, GoldenGate, MSSQL, and Azure SQL.
Experience modifying database structures and working with application developers.
Proven track record of monitoring, optimizing, and performance tuning databases.
Ability to write and interpret highly complex SQL queries.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to research and evaluate complex design options.
Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve technical and database issues.
Experience identifying risks and recommending innovative solutions.
Communication Skills
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
Experience preparing operational documentation such as build guides and procedures.
