About the Job:

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Technical Lead to support Canadian online content production. You will build and maintain new/replacement sources, perform User Acceptance Testing for new features and product launches, monitor data flows from editorial to online, and resolve markup/conversion issues for online titles. You will also automate workflows to streamline editorial work and help evolve our conversion specifications, markup manuals, and data standards.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years in online content production, conversion, or digital publishing (legal/tax/financial content preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience with XML, XSD, and markup troubleshooting, as well as familiarity with fundamental concepts of XSLT and XPath.

  • Experience monitoring content data flows and resolving conversion/online issues in production.

  • Strong documentation skills (conversion specs, markup manuals, standards) and quality mindset.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication; able to partner with editorial, product, IT, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Content Operations & Conversion

  • Build and maintain new and replacement sources for all Canadian content types; perform online conversion troubleshooting end-to-end.

  • Analyze input data (SGML/XML/Word) to ensure proper conversion handling, metadata accuracy, and compliance with conversion specifications.

  • Resolve XML markup issues for online analytical titles; escalate and collaborate as needed.

User Acceptance Testing & Quality

  • Execute User Acceptance test plans/cases for new features and products; verify functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Track defects (Jira/Azure DevOps), partner with Engineers/QA/Product to triage and validate fixes; reduce defect escape rate to production.

  • Maintain QA checklists, business rules, and acceptance criteria for Canadian content.

Data Flow Monitoring & Issue Resolution

  • Monitor data pipelines from editorial through conversion to online platforms; diagnose and remediate data and conversion errors.

  • Coordinate with editorial, product owners, to minimize time-to-resolution; document root cause analysis and preventive actions.

  • Address customer concerns by prioritizing issues, investigating complaints, and resolving problems.

Tooling, Automation & Documentation

  • Participate in special projects that require data-based solutions supporting new product features and online functionality.

We value curiosity, ownership, and collaboration. If you enjoy solving complex content problems and keeping online products humming, we would love to hear from you.
