Job Summary
The Supervisor, Operations is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. This role involves supervising staff, monitoring performance, and supporting the delivery of high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure operational excellence.
- Monitor performance metrics such as on-time departures, route compliance, and incident reporting.
- Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports and daily records.
- Assist with dispatching as needed and reconcile previous day deposits.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service issues promptly.
- Support additional tasks such as road checks, routing, training, payroll, and administrative duties.
- Participate in driver hiring and onboarding in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (required).
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- Proven experience managing people and supervising operations.
- Experience in the transportation industry is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and scheduling tools
- Previous experience in transit or related industries is an asset.
