The Operational Training & Development Manager plays a key role in building a skilled, high performing workforce. This role oversees a team of trainers responsible for onboarding and continuous operational training, while also driving development initiatives that support employee growth, upskilling, and future leadership readiness. You will collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and the Learning & Development team to ensure training programs are effective, consistent, and aligned with both current and long term organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the operational onboarding program to ensure new hires receive all required training, tools, and resources. 

  • Manage, coach, and support a team of operational trainers delivering onboarding, ongoing training, and projectrelated training. 

  • Coordinate with Operations, HR, L&D and project team to maintain accurate, updated, and standardized training materials. 

  • Oversee the deployment of new operational projects by planning and supervising the delivery of projectspecific training. 

  • Ensure trainers are fully prepared for project launches, including understanding timelines, SOPs, and training expectations. 

  • Identify skill gaps through performance data, audits, and feedback from managers. 

  • Lead or support upskilling and reskilling initiatives to enhance operational capability. 

  • Contribute to development programs that prepare highpotential employees for future leadership roles. 

  • Maintain training schedules, documentation, attendance, and compliance tracking. 

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all training programs and recommend improvements. 

  • Foster strong crossfunctional relationships with Operations leaders to ensure training aligns with current and future business needs. 

  • Stay informed on industry and learning best practices and integrate them into training strategies. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3–5+ years of experience in training, operations, employee development, or a related field. 

  • Experience managing, coaching, or developing a team. 

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage competing priorities. 

  • Solid understanding of operational workflows, metrics, and performance drivers. 

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
