What you’ll do

The Courier Operations and Development Team is trusted with managing the relationship between the Corporation and all our Courier Partners. This involves the day-to-day operations, creation of standard operating procedures; as well as the ongoing development of our Courier Capacity; building a reliable, robust, and dependable network of selected couriers that will help us to deliver a great customer experience. Our team provides strong project management and subject matter expertise in support of multiple initiatives impacting multiple key stakeholders across all banners and throughout the enterprise. Some of the key programs we are support closely include: ecommerce initiatives, creation and support of courier center of excellence and implementation, increase in our existing courier capacity, implementation of a courier invoice audit and validation solution for last mile networks.

  • Collaborate successfully with key stakeholders both internal and external acting as a liaison and a change agent driving efficiencies and better decision making for our Courier portfolio.

  • Work closely with multiple ecommerce teams from across the corporation and other key supply chain business teams developing strategic processes and solutions

  • Map current processes, determine alternative methods, build robust process working closely with multiple stakeholders

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of sustainable process documentation that demonstrates due diligence and compliance

  • Support the day-to-day Courier Operations activities. Including: Last Mile, all Business to Customer, and all Business to Business. Supporting shipment tracking, network health and capacity, and issue resolution with all couriers.

  • Track, Trace, communicate and report the status of every shipment assigned from stakeholder teams across the organization

  • Proactively identify late orders and resolve with courier

  • Proactively identify and resolve overages and shortages in transportation

  • Set up deliveries from quote, to order creation, to dispatching to carrier, monitoring for delivery completion and invoice out.

  • Act as an escalation point to review courier invoice structure and validate invoices on a weekly basis

  • Participate in regular business reviews and brainstorming session

  • Create business reporting for daily operations, quarterly business reviews, etc.

  • Using visualisation tools such as MS Excel, PowerBi, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring

  • A University degree or College Diploma in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent Transportation related experience

  • Experience in a Distribution/Retail warehouse environment

  • Dispatch / Courier related experience skills

  • Well developed analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and ensure that tight deadlines are met, especially in peak production periods

  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven experience in developing positive employee relations with an emphasis on creating and maintaining constructive working relationships within teams

  • Advanced user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, PowerBi and others

  • Proven experience as liaison between multiple stakeholders

  • Transportation and LTL/FTL Transportation P&D operations knowledge would be an asset

  • Invoice validation and auditing knowledge would be an asset

  • Dispatch / Courier related experience skills would be an asset

  • Experience in a Distribution/Retail warehouse environment and Flexibility with work schedule
