Position/Job Description:

Gardena, a division of Husqvarna Group, is the leading consumer brand of lawn and garden products in Europe and is looking to expand its footprint in North America.  As part of this expansion, Gardena is seeking a National Sales Manager (NSM) to lead the establishment and growth of Gardena products in Canada.  The NSM will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to capture Canadian market share in the lawn and garden categories.  The candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, to identify and build relationships with strategic retail and distribution partners with whom to sell Gardena products.  The NSM will be responsible for achieving strategic sales targets and driving strong year-over-year growth.  The ideal candidate will possess an intense entrepreneurial spirit accompanied by a high level of self-motivation and passion for success, as well as the technical skills to ensure products are onboarded correctly with key Canadian retailers. Success will be measured in both sales volume and customer satisfaction.  The objective is to not only sell products, but to build a foundation of passionate gardeners thrilled with their experience using Gardena products.

What You Need to Know:

  • Work with tireless determination to ensure that every customer has a 5-star experience with Gardena products

  • Deliver on sales targets and passionately seek strong YOY sales growth

  • Identify and develop a network of strategic retail partners that will best help Gardena reach passionate gardeners

  • Work closely with the Gardena Head of Marketing to deliver messaging that will best reach the target consumer groups identified Develop relationships with key retail partners and seek to find ways to find mutual success

  • Work with marketing to utilize influencers, social media, and other digital platforms to drive awareness and sales

  • Be a passionate ambassador for Gardena products within the lawn and garden industry

  • Actively collaborate and participate in providing product feedback with the Gardena PD/PM teams that will help guide development specific for the Canadian market

  • Provide timely product forecasts to planning and operations and ensure inventory is managed appropriately

  • Regularly present progress updates to senior management, including important sales and customer satisfaction KPI’s

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the lawn and garden or home improvement industries

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Strong people skills

  • Proven record of sales growth

  • Strong MS office skills Experience with key Canadian retailer onboarding processes preferred

  • Ability to fearlessly seek and engage with potential clients and partners and to develop relationships of trust that will foster present and future success

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and details concurrently

  • Ability to work effectively with a team consisting of a wide range of personalities and expertise

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect and process data graphically/verbally

  • High creativity and ability to “think outside the box”

  • Enthusiasm for the company, its products and its growth potential 

  • Travel up to 50% including international travel
