Job Description

Mission

CIMA+ is looking for a Municipal Senior Project Manager to support our growing Infrastructure practice in GTA. The successful candidate will support the infrastructure group as a Senior Project Manager on Municipal projects involving municipal road design, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains and drainage works with in depth knowledge in Civil3D or Bentley Inroads. Responsibilities will also include preparation of functional, preliminary and detailed design drawings, cost estimates and contract document specifications. The position requires an individual who can work within a team environment and is able to take a high degree of ownership and demonstrate initiative by achieving objectives on time and to defined standards. 

CIMA+ has a hybrid model, with the expectation to be in the office 1-2 days /week. Mississauga, Bowmanville and Kitchener offices are all an option.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development for conceptual and detailed design of municipal civil projects including rural and urban roads, sewers, watermains, drainage, etc. 
  • Apply CAD/Civil 3D or Bentley InRoads knowledge to municipal infrastructure and municipal road construction/reconstruction projects from concept design to completion.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed design drawings and contract documents and specifications for project tendering. 
  • Lead the preparation of tender quantities and construction cost estimates. 
  • Lead the completion of technical design reports and studies. 
  • Lead the completion of applications for permits and approvals. 
  • Work with direction from Director of Municipal Engineering. 
  • Manage project budgets. 
  • Provide direction to Junior Engineers and Technologists. 
  • Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in municipal design projects.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario (or eligibility for transfer). 
  • Specific experience with municipal infrastructure and road design in Ontario is a requirement. 
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and documents, e.g. plans and profiles, specifications, etc. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time in order to deliver on time and within budget. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil3D or Bentley InRoads, as well as of various software packages (Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets) is a requirement. 
  • Highly meticulous nature, strong attention to detail.
