About the team and role:

We are the eBay Ads team, and we are reimagining advertising at eBay! We’re creating innovative ad-tech solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. Our goal is to create a valuable experience for both buyers and sellers, while also driving performance through Ads.

We are innovating rapidly in the ad-tech space and there is no shortage of new challenges for motivated individuals.

As a staff Fullstack Software Engineer, you will work closely with designers, product managers and other specialists (frontend, backend, native, machine learning, quality) to redefine the advertising space for eBay and beyond.

What you will accomplish:

  • Responsible for a functional domain to design cross data center distributed, fault tolerant, highly available and performant web services and web applications by using software architecture design, OOA/D skills in addition to outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Own major projects and features from design phase to coding, testing, deployment and support.

  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes. Identify project technical risks and make recommendations to mitigate.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science with 6-8+ years of experience

  • Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems.

  • Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, Java/Scala, and Oracle/NOSQL databases.

  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns and proven track record of building web and RESTful applications.

  • Proficiency with UI frameworks like React and backend frameworks such as Spring Model View Controller.

  • Exposure to GraphQL and experience building GraphQL APIs is a plus.
