Our challenge

We are seeking a MSBI Developer having extensive experience with large reporting database.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $120k – CAD $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries for data retrieval and processing, adhering to best practices for performance.
  • Utilize SSRS and other reporting tools to create and maintain reports that meet stakeholders' requirements.
  • Manage job scheduling and monitor workflows using Autosys to ensure timely execution of data processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Handle unexpected changes in project scope and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for ETL processes, data models, and reporting solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide effective solutions, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, and provide recommendations for technology improvements.

Requirements:

  • 7+ yrs. of overall IT experience with skills in SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Autosys.
  • Strong knowledge of database fundamentals and advanced concepts, ability to write efficient SQL, tune existing SQL
  • 2+ yrs. experience in any ETL tool, preferably SSIS
  • Experience with a reporting tool (e.g. SSRS, QlikView) is a plus
  • Experience with a job scheduling tool (e.g. Autosys)
  • Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Highly motivated needing minimal hand holding, Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a challenging, fast moving Agile environment.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Banking/ Financial experience is preferred
