Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle Market Package Manager to lead and manage our middle-market package underwriting team. This individual will be responsible for driving profitable growth, managing underwriting strategies, and building strong relationships with brokers and clients. The role requires a deep understanding of package products, including property, casualty, and other related lines, as well as the ability to develop and execute strategies tailored to the unique needs of middle-market clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

•Develop and execute underwriting strategies for middle-market package products, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.

•Lead, mentor, and develop a team of underwriters, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

•Monitor market trends and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.

Underwriting and Risk Management:

• Oversee the underwriting of middle-market package accounts, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and risk appetite.

•Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex accounts, including property, general liability, auto, and umbrella coverage.

•Establish and monitor underwriting authority levels for team members. Broker and Client Relations:

•Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and business partner.

•Collaborate with brokers to deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs. •Represent the company at industry events and broker meetings to enhance market presence Financial

Performance:

•Drive profitability and growth within the middle-market package portfolio by achieving underwriting targets, including loss ratio and premium growth.

•Analyze portfolio performance and implement corrective actions as needed to address underperforming segments. Compliance and Governance:

•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

•Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all underwriting files meet audit standards.

Qualifications:

•Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in middle-market commercial underwriting, with a strong focus on package products (property, casualty, and related lines).

•Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams. •Strong technical underwriting knowledge, with the ability to analyze complex risks and make sound decisions. •Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.

•Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and adapt to a changing market.

•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. •Proficiency in insurance systems and tools, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

•A CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation is highly preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field is an asset
