About the Role

The Meetings and Events Specialist plays a key role in bringing our North American teams together through thoughtful, well-executed events and experiences. This role leads the planning and delivery of large-scale meetings and smaller team engagements, ensuring each experience is purposeful, engaging, and aligned to our broader business strategies.

In this role, you are curious about the diverse needs of our teams and work closely with cross-functional partners to design and deliver events that are clear in purpose and impactful in experience. Reporting to the Travel and Events Manager, core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:  

  • Conceptualize, coordinate and execute Retail, Manufacturing/Distribution and S&A Meetings annually for up to 900 people across North America, as well as team and training meetings of smaller scale
  • Ensure that meetings/events/projects are comprehensively planned and executed as smoothly as possible, successfully managing project team participants while maintaining a maximum level of guest service.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects on time and on budget, while anticipating obstacles and proactively addressing potential challenges 
  • Develop and execute high-impact B2B event strategies by proactively identifying opportunities, designing engaging event concepts, and delivering end-to-end execution with a focus on driving measurable sales impact and increasing brand visibility 
  • Maintain the highest degree of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines, communicate deadlines to departments involved in the event/project, and maintain event records and inventories
  • Review meeting and event history to understand expectations and identify opportunities
  • Define meeting attendees and ensure targeting with appropriate branding, technology and messaging. 
  • Communicate the meeting purpose and objective to align activities with sessions, presenters, vendors and other meeting partners
  • Coordinate speakers, attendees, and volunteers all in alignment with the meeting’s purpose and objective
  • Work with HQ Teams to refine and improve events, as well as manage operating costs. Critique events and budgets, etc. to improve on for next time
  • Use sound judgment in the execution of all responsibilities to maximize productivity and reduce liability.
  • Continually seek unique and innovative methods to improve by identifying industry trends, new concepts and innovative practices to constantly evolve our meetings to the next level

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 3 - 5 years experience conceptualizing and executing corporate events and/or B2B events (planning, sourcing, execution, budget tracking, etc.)
  • Direct experience delivering B2B events
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across Canada and the United States
  • Ability to maintain a positive and supportive demeanor in high stress environments
  • Ability to retain a lot of information and keep track of many things at once
  • Ability to support events outside regular business hours when required
  • Demonstrated ability in project management including the ability to organize, plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects and effectively meet deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build rapport by phone and in person

Preferred:

  • Experience planning, coordinating, managing, and/or executing events for 350+ people
  • Experience developing sustainable, low-waste, or environmentally responsible events
  • Degree or certification in Event Planning or Event Management
  • Experience with events in a creative space where innovation and technology are early adopted

Location: Hybrid - 3 days in-office (Office Location: 35 Jutland Road, Etobicoke, Ontario, M8Z 2G6)

This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.

Base Salary Range
$66,420$73,800 CAD
