The position of Marketplace Analyst sits within the Air and Ground Strategy Team and is an integral part of the Global Business Partnerships organization. The Air and Ground Supplier Strategy Team ensures preferred suppliers who provide us with the best content receive foremost support by deploying technology and tools to highlight the key attributes and benefits of these products to our customers so that they can make the best purchasing decisions.

As a result, our premium client base would continue to grow, and we would create a virtuous circle driving value for both our preferred suppliers and our customers. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on mentality combined with a creative mindset, comfortable interpreting data with the ability to grasp the various aspects of content distribution strategies across different business units and client segments. The candidate will be able to deploy marketplace tools and technology driven by our short and longer-term goals and clear customer benefit, based on our Amex GBT supplier value proposition and strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform in-depth data analysis leading to the development and execution of air content campaigns that support the GBT Marketplace Partner’s value proposition, including NDC content distribution.
  • Effectively collaborate with the team managers on analysis, support & implementation and execute on the supplier strategy.
  • Daily audits of running EDIFACT and NDC support activities to ensure accuracy and traction.
  • Daily management, troubleshooting and reporting of SNAP tickets as they relate to any content & pricing discrepancies (including NDC) reported by Travel Counselors, CGM’s and/or other support teams.
  • Assisting other teams with PCC and Client NDC activations and implementations.
  • Quality Assurance with all online & offline booking tools to ensure adequate support for GBT’s Marketplace Partners.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Global Revenue Management (GRM) & other GBT teams such as Traveler Care & Global Travel Technologies.
  • Support Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) on prioritized business requirements & functional specifications related to GBT’s Marketplace health and drive them to completion with product teams.
  • This role may involve some international travel. Due to the unique nature of Global Marketplace Strategies s and the global nature of this role, some flexibility in working hours is required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • An in-depth knowledge of at least two, preferably all three GDS Systems. Expertise in Sabre GDS is expected. Online Booking Tool knowledge is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of air content distribution including NDC, online retailing and travel economics.
  • Proven experience in using Excel databases, creating pivots and generally manipulating large data sets.
  • Ability to develop understanding of new industry trends and related opportunities for Amex GBT.
  • Ability to learn multiple complex Amex GBT tools and adapt to change.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), fluency in English & strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, able to manage multiple projects with different deliverables at the same time, has attention to detail and ability to deliver within deadlines and highlights deliverable issues and suggested solutions on time.
