Marketing FX Artist Intern (Expected for January 2026)

Position Overview 
As a Marketing FX Artist Intern, you will create visual content to support marketing initiatives, which could be used in public events like conferences, or online web articles, magazine publications and others. You may also work alongside SideFX R&D where applicable, and other departments where necessary. While this is a role for learning, you will be expected to have an existing background in 3D. Knowledge of Houdini is not a main criteria, but it would be helpful for yourself to be somewhat familiar to it. The length of the internship is 4 months, with the possibility of an extension. This position is on-site in Toronto, at SideFX HQ. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to boost your Houdini skills and potential to strengthen your industry knowledge and exposure.  

Please note that the expected start date for this internship is mid-January 2026.

What you will be working on

• Create visually strong artwork to support Marketing initiatives
• Learning new tools, techniques and applications
• Maintain your scene files and document your work
• Work along with and support teammates, and staff from other departments
• Help with general office/kitchen duties
• Other duties as assigned

What you need to be successful

• Existing knowledge of a core 3D application
• Understanding of 3D graphics pipeline and data flow (film/tv or games)
• Strong visual eye
• Strong observation and attention to detail
• Must be self-driven and self-directed, but also enjoy to work with people
• Must have existing demoreel that demonstrate comprehension of technical and artistic acuity

Location

This is an on-site role in our Toronto, Ontario office.

Our transit-friendly head office location, directly adjacent to Union Station in the heart of downtown Toronto, is open-concept with a relaxed style that includes, casual dress, and wraparound views from the 14th floor.
